When we think of an athame, our minds generally sway toward Traditional Witchcraft and the long-handled blades used in ceremonial practice. Personally, most of my ritual tools not only have to pull double duty, but need to travel easily; especially when working at my outdoor altar spaces. My athame is and has been a pocket knife of some sort - one that I can clasp onto a chain or tuck into a boot for hiking or camping. The method of use isn't only for psychic cutting and energy-wielding, but also cutting twine, food, branches, and wood carving. This symbol was actually inspired by documented footage from Hellier! The first time I saw it, it spoke the words of Pan to me and, being a self-proclaimed Witch of The Wood, it's obvious as to why I've been using it so much in my work lately. Traditionally, this is the Norse Rune Algiz, which symbolizes spirituality, higher self, healing, and protection - which is all the better for the wearer. Hand-burned with the Mark of The Wood Witch, this blade is for those who never connected with a traditional athame, or for those who just like pocket knives! They'll be attached to 30" matte black shotbead chains, making them easy to take on and off or tuck into a shirt or jacket. This listing will be ready for shipping and store pick-up on Tuesday, August 4th, 2020.
